Clayton Palmer, Sr. is a retired police lieutenant, serving 30 years with the Delaware River and Bay Authority Police Department. He also served in the US Army and the NJ Army National Guard, and served on active duty in the Gulf War, earning various commendations, the highest being The Soldier’s Medal for Bravery. Clayton is a lifetime member of the NAACP. He has served as a Youth Advisor for the Cape May County branch and is currently the branch vice-president. Clayton graduated from Middle Twp. High School and had coached locally–both high school and township, baseball, football, as well as Track and Field. His interests include photography, writing and wine, and he is presently employed at Cape May Winery. Clayton and his wife of 39 years, Thelma, have two adult children and a grandchild.
