Combination Tours

Combination tours are a great way to expand your tour experience with some savings! Combination tours combine a trolley ride with either a house tour, a walking tour, or a visit to another museum or Cape May attraction.

Accessible trolley tours are available but must be pre-arranged at least 2 weeks in advance by calling 609-884-5404 (press 0)

Trolleys and golf carts have benches that routinely accommodate two (2) seated adults. Requests for accommodation by individuals to occupy two seats (one bench) on a trolley or golf cart will be considered, when made 2 weeks in advance of the tour. Call 609-884-5404 (press 0)

This immersive, 2-hour tour experience combines a guided tour by trolley of Cape May’s Historic District with a guided tour of the Physick House Museum, providing an in-depth look into Cape May history and architecture. Learn why Cape May is the only National Historic Landmark City in the nation as you appreciate the details of Cape May’s unique Victorian streetscapes via trolley. The tour includes contributions of Cape May’s Black community recently documented and entered into the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and into the National Register of Historic Places. Take a guided tour of the first and second floors of the 1879 Physick House Museum, for a detailed look at Victorian architecture and the period. The tour includes a visit to the Carriage House Carroll Gallery Exhibit and begins and ends at the Ocean Street Trolley Stop.

This tour gives an in-depth look at the outstanding contributions of Cape May’s African American community. First, take a new guided trolley tour that celebrates Cape May Black history as an essential part of its National Historic Landmark status. Then, visit the renowned Harriet Tubman Museum of New Jersey that tells the story of this hero of the Underground Railroad. Hear how legendary anti-slavery fighter, Harriet Tubman, had a presence in Cape May, as did prominent railroad businessman and former enslaved person, Stephen Smith, whose railroad cars carried hundreds to freedom.

Victorians of the late 19th century had wild notions about the passage from life to death and were fascinated by mystery and illusion. Board a Cape May MAC trolley and travel through the lovely Cape May Historic District. You’ll hear strange stories from Victorian Cape May history that are macabre, mysterious or just plain weird. The trolley stops at the 1879 Physick House Museum where you’ll visit select rooms and learn about the famous Harry Houdini who captivated Victorian audiences with his intricate escapes, Ionia, a Belgian beauty called the Goddess of Mystery, who Victorians adored for her spectacles of magic, and many more famous Victorian masters and mistresses of illusion. Take an evening trolley ride through the Historic District and hear the latest stories of haunted Cape May unearthed by the very locals who have relationships with the spirit world, including those who have worked at the 1879 Physick House Museum for years. Then, step off the trolley at the museum with your guide. Learn about Victorian Spiritualism and explore Victorian methods and the objects they used to contact the spirit world as you tour select rooms. You’ll hear a story or two about unexplained happenings in the house, widely reputed to be haunted. Begins and ends at the Ocean Street Trolley Stop.
